Maintenance Manager

Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to: Plant Manager
This position is responsible for the plant’s maintenance program, as well as, serves as a subject matter expert on plant operating and maintenance procedures.
Functional Responsibilities
-Provides leadership and direction for the execution of the plant’s maintenance program
-Liaison with the Production and Process Support Departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas
-Assists with planning, implementing and managing projects for plant improvements and expansions
-Continuously monitors plant equipment and systems to effectively minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement
-Oversee computerized maintenance management system (MP2) and ensure appropriate work order prioritization and distribution and maintenance history of plant equipment
-Oversees warehouse and inventory management to ensure appropriate levels of parts, tools and supplies
-Develops, implements, updates and maintains plant maintenance processes and procedures and training manuals
-Develops, tracks and reports on department performance relative to established maintenance metrics (cost, compliance, schedules, etc.); provides analysis and improvement initiatives for such metrics
-Ensure compliance to city, county, state and federal regulations related to equipment maintenance
-Participates in incident investigations and root cause analysis
-Observe,  adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures and participate in plant safety processes
-Maintain and enforce good housekeeping and keep the plant free from debris, spills and waste
-Hire, train, coach/mentor and retain maintenance employees
 

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred or other field with appropriate work experience
-Eight (8) years of directly related work experience and at least three (3) years in a management role,   in a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered chemical manufacturing facility
-Broad technical knowledge and experience involving a wide variety of chemical process equipment, hardware and plant operations
-Strong knowledge of Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change and Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations
-Strong working knowledge in plant operating and maintenance procedures, planning/scheduling and equipment reliability
-Strong leadership skills for the direction of maintenance personnel, the coordination of outside vendors, manage budgets, coordinate plant wide priorities and drive improvements
