Purchasing Agent

Obtaining inventory from new and established vendors for wholesale along with inventory management of fasteners. A successful candidate would be one that is experienced with the purchasing sector along with fasteners. On the job training available, but previous experience in purchasing would be advantageous.
Primary Job Functions:
  • Contact between company and suppliers with the responsibility of obtaining quotes, negotiating best price/quantity breaks, delivery schedules, payment terms and all conditions of purchases
  • Be aware of supply needs for fasteners such that customer orders are completely and efficiently fulfilled
  • Insure that vendor deliveries fulfill purchase and if there are missing products or discrepancies that vendor is contacted
  • Work with sales personnel on orders needing placed based on customer projections or special orders
  • Use and establish inventory minimum and maximum levels to best place orders with vendors in order to obtain timely and best pricing/delivery on material needed
  • Search for additional vendor partnerships
  • Participate as needed in special projects which will require occasional special hours
