Job Description

Will be a technical lead for the larger and more complex projects executed by the Engineering Department and will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from concept to project closure.  The person in this role will potentially lead projects in process areas, buildings and infrastructure, general manufacturing processes, and packaging systems depending on business needs. 
Day to day duties include:
•Building and leading high performance teams
•Fostering and sustaining a winning environment which promotes safety, trust and confidence
•Developing team member skills that support excellence in execution and leadership
•Fostering open relationships with functional groups on the project team
•Developing skills that support excellence in execution and leadership, including effective communications and establishing clear accountability with the project team, contractors and vendors.
•Using project management technique to:  manage projects, team leadership, chartering, scoping, resource planning, budget development & management, schedule development & management, commercial buy planning, stakeholder engagement & communication, risk management, safe design & construction safety, and project closeout. Ensuring team members comply with and reinforce safety, security and environmental policies and consistency in the use of designated engineering tools and practices. Driving the project development process. Foster innovative ideas. Low asset driven project estimates. Project schedules delivering first to market. Driving and supporting standards. Facilitates the transfer of knowledge of technology for all projects to site stakeholders. Managing multiple projects. Resource sharing. Stay current in the most state of the art functional tools and methodologies. Ensure delivery of scope, time, budget, and cash flow for all projects. Drive lean ways of working in the engineering process and as a project deliverable. Develop standards for equipment, systems and engineering processes or assigned functional area and collaborate with other senior engineers. Manage technical project associates that may be distributed across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Experience  4-10 years’ experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry is a must.  In-Depth understanding of project management principals and general knowledge of engineering disciplines: Building, Infrastructure, Civil, Utilities, Process, Packaging, Electrical, Construction or Computer Services.  Bachelor’s of Science in engineering; an advanced degree in engineering, MBA or PMP certification considered a plus.
