Lead the payroll team in the processing of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2000 multi-state employees. • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions. • Ensure compliance to wage and hour laws, as well as, company policies • Manage quality control of payroll information by performing reviews to ensure accuracy of data • Monitor, direct, and schedule workflow by observing and reviewing work produced by staff to maintain efficiency, timely services, all with the business in mind and ease of use to field. • Ensure proper mandatory federal reporting • Participate and support annual payroll audits • Provide leadership as a player coach for payroll preparation and processing What are the requirements for this position? • You have 5+ years’ experience in Ultimate payroll processing • You have current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws • You have demonstrated experience in leading change and implementing process improvements for a payroll team • You have extensive knowledge of wage and hour laws, including multi-state payroll experience, especially California • You have an analytical mind with good math skills • You have excellent problem solving, communication and follow through skills • You collaborate well with internal teams and focus on customer/business impact • You have strategic vision and experience guiding team efficiency by supervising, assigning and monitoring tasks, mentoring and developing and driving accountability via ongoing feedback. • You are a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or obtained other relevant certifications
Qualifications
Multi-state payroll experience
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar designation
Experience leading others successfully
Knowledge of FLSA and government reporting requirements
Ultimate Payroll Software Experience (UltiPro or similar)
