Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as it pertains to human resources.
Assist with managing employee relations in a union environment.
Responsible for interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional and technical job openings.
Responsible for the recruitment/staffing of hourly positions.
Conduct new-hire orientation
Facilitate or provides training to the workforce.
Provide support to associates on questions/concerns relating to policies, contract and benefits.
Monitor tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.
Organize and keep track of disciplinary actions and terminations.
Maintain and coordinates employee recognition programs, company activities and programs.
Maintain relationship with local government and community leaders.
Identify and follow through on opportunities to be a good corporate citizen in the community where the plant is located.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills And Experience Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management or related field plus two (2) years related work experience in a manufacturing environment
SHRM-CP a plus, but not required
Strong analytical and communication skills
Self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and strong initiative
