Performs day-to day Quality functions, which may include but are not limited to: communicating with customers, acquiring calibration services, measuring, doing calculations, running reports, line and finish inspection, analyzing customer rejects as well as being a resource to floor forging inspectors, supervisors and management team.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.         Able to run stats and interpret data necessary to fulfill job duties/functions.
2.         Able to perform QA sampling and record data in a timely and accurate manner.
3.         Able to perform PPAP (Customer Certification) and interact with customer contact as warranted.
4.         Able to perform SPC functions related to position.
5.         Able to perform FMEA (Failure Effects Mode Analysis).
6.         Able to perform Magnetic Particle Inspection, and analysis of nonconforming material.
7.         Meet & maintain ISO/ TS 16949 standards.
8.         Perform all job duties and functions in a pro-active, accurate and timely manner.
9.         Positively and effectively interact with Floor Forge Supervisors, Inspectors, production personnel.
10.       Perform miscellaneous requests, duties, corrective action/change, quality and special projects as required by QA Manager.
11.       Reviews and investigates complaints as required.
12.       Reviews and coordinates material review activities for the disposition of nonconforming materials.
13.       Performs periodic audits of operations, vendors and products as needed.
14.       Participates in the design review and evaluation of new orders.
15.       Maintain high business moral and ethical standards.
16.       Support and promote safety within department and on a plant wide basis.                              
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
 
1.         Able to read digital & analog calipers, a ruler, schematics, blueprints and does basic proficient shop math with some basic algebra knowledge a plus.
2.         Basic PC proficiency in Microsoft Office Products - Excel & Word.
3.         Knowledge of FMEA's, PPAP's & SPC a plus.
4.         Skills in auditing against the ISO/TS 16949 system a plus
5.         Be self-motivated & reliable, able and willing to continue learning required QA processes, functions and/or techniques.
6.         Good communication skills - written/verbal.
7.         Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills.
8.         Able to work in forge shop environment.
9.         A capability to effectively communicate new ideas, and work with a variety of personnel within the organization.
10.       Possess and demonstrate good communication, organization, planning, problem solving, goal setting, and performance measurement and follow-through skills.  (Able to communicate effectively well with all personnel and departments.)
11.       Lead by example, be a team player, work under minimal guidance/direction and be a self-starter.
12.       Able to work flexible hours required for fulfilling job duties and responsibilities.
13.       Able to work in a varied, fast-paced, changing environment and accept change positively.
14.       Able to work effectively and efficiently with varied levels of personnel, a diverse employee base as well as in difficult situations and challenging people. Experience in both union and non-union environments a plus.
15.       Able to meet and maintain department productivity and quality requirements.
16.       Able to meet and maintain established physical and environmental job requirements.
 
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS OPERATED AND/OR WORKED FROM:
Proficient skill in operation of basic office equipment, which includes phone, fax, copiers, PC, cell phone as well as audiovisual equipment for training/presentations. Able to use basic measuring  & QA related devices required for fulfilling job duties and responsibilities.

1.  Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
2.  2+ years of Quality experience including QA sampling, PPAP (Customer Certification), SPC functions, and FMEA (Failure Effects Mode Analysis).

4.  Experience with ISO/ TS 16949 standards.
