Job Summary
The purpose of the position of Program Manager is to support the achievement of each company's strategic sales, marketing, and purchasing goals.  The essence of this strategy is to achieve the highest level of distributor member satisfaction and loyalty, drive food service sales and enhance financial return, and thereby gain a significant competitive advantage.
Responsible for growth of the program.  Report to Director, Member Development.  No direct reports.  Create weekly report of activities for all senior management.  Autonomy to make daily decisions and utilization of resources.  Some travel required.  Expenses incurred in the line of duty such as gas, travel & meals does not need to be pre-approved.  All other expenses need to be pre-approved by Vice President.  Work schedule should fit into distributor's environment.  Required involvement in select distributor manager meetings.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Key Results Area 1 - Achievement of sales strategy and financial objectives.
Performance Standards:
         In conjunction with Director, Member Development, development and preparation of an annual sales plan for the company which achieves a budgeted level of sales and profit growth.
         To assure achievement of the annual sales plan.
         Provide consultation to in all product / service areas to maximize DPA & bonus potential.
         Monthly meetings with Member ownership/management to review all aspects of member's financial return:  Review all aspects of direct financial return (DPA, Volume Incentive, Growth Incentive), conversion opportunities, 13 month report, snapshot report
         For the benefit of the company to maximize effective utilization of services and programs every time possible, including:  Lumen Creative, GPA, Logistics Services, IPAP, Market IQ.
Key Results Area 2 - Achievement of marketing strategy and financial objectives.      
Performance Standards:
         The development and preparation of an annual marketing plan for Foodservice, which achieves an acceptable level of participation.
         To assure achievement of the annual marketing plan.
         Assist at food shows.
Key Results Area 3 - Achievement of procurement strategy and financial objectives
Performance Standards:
         Increase sales and purchasing of supplier products to maximize return.
         Communicate, monitor, and manage all marketing programs including:  Lumen Creative, GPA, Logistics Services, Market IQ, and IPAP.
         Monitor and manage training programs.
         Lead role in analyzing and executing supplier conversions
         Assist in margin enhancement programs.
         Assist in key account calls, program account development, and chair business program development and supplier negotiation at food show.
         Maintain an effective sample program through management of brokers and manufacturer representatives.
         Organizational skills
         Computer: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook & Internet
         Communication skills: verbal & written, phone
         Sales & marketing experience
         Work schedule flexibility
         Five years of experience in distributor sales marketing, purchasing, or in the organization
         Successful track record in customer relations and building territories
         College degree or equivalent work experience
         Candidate may not be a relative of any Member employee
