Production Supervisor

Job Description

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for training, developing and mentoring the team, work assignments, performance reviews/coaching, and administering disciplinary procedures.  You will have identify the status of production materials, creating controlled plans and work instructions. This role interacts with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside contacts.
 
Additional responsibilities:
  • Work with the team to identify continuous improvement opportunities, identify and eliminate waste. Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings. Participate in cost-reduction programs.
  • Coordinate new product launches with Engineering.
  • Ensure quality standards are met that emphasize and focus on continuous improvement in an effort to improve manufacturing capability and reduce rework and scrap. Contain source of quality issues. Communicate with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships. Coordinate corrective action activities.
  • Perform capacity analysis using build plans. Determine staffing requirements for the assigned production area. Ensure that departmental productivity targets are met to meet customer requirements. Troubleshoot scheduling and material issues.
  • Develop and deploy standardized work instructions. Ensure process stability through following standardized work.
  • Promote and enforce compliance of safety policies and procedures. Conduct safety investigations and audits. Address safety non-compliance. Maintain Operation Showcase
 

Qualifications

Desired qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar.
  • 2+ years of management experience as a Production or Line Supervisor or similar role (Team Lead experience adequate)
  • Must be strong in manufacturing and production engineering principals, concepts and general business operations. Must be skilled in continuous improvement, lean, or other methods to improve quality and manufacturing functions (pull systems, process mapping, JIT, etc).
  • Other plusses would be Six Sigma training, values stream mapping / management, project management, FMEA, quality systems, etc.
  • Must be skilled in working with CAD Software, Microsoft Office, and/or Lotus Notes.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
