Position Description
Motivated, self-starting counterintelligence specialist with excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to provide cyber threat briefings and products to personnel, provide analytical reports and products to leadership, main account and utilize reporting system to document activities.
They must maintain metrics and narratives of Counterintelligence Cyber Security (CICS) activities for reporting to Higher HQ. work with relational databases to formulate appropriate queries, conduct data mining, and analyze collected network data. Operate correlation database specifically used to network analysis. Demonstrate specific knowledge with CI Cyber and insider threat tools and software.

Job Description

Position Responsibilities
  • Safeguard DTRA and Department of Defense (DoD) Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) nuclear related information from unauthorized disclosure to Foreign Intelligence Entities (FIE) and/or other unauthorized interests through the DTRA Research Technology Protection (RTP) Program. Assist in support to other (non-nuclear) DTRA research areas as directed.
  • Provide CI support to all nuclear related RDT&E efforts facilitated by DTRA, other (non nuclear) efforts as directed.
  • Work with customers to help identify and protect Critical Program Research Technology (CRT). Provide training opportunities for RDT&E personnel to understand and apply methodologies to determine CPI/CRT.
  • Conduct liaison and coordinate with local law enforcement entities at test locations as directed for added information and protection of test personnel and information.
  • Assist J29 Field Site Teams in providing a Limited Threat Vulnerability Assessment (LTVA) for each test location and each variation of test conducted by DTRA nuclear related RDT&E personnel.
  • Travel with J29 Field Site Team(s) as directed to provide on location support before, during and after tests to ensure the protection of DTRA personnel, property, and information.
  • Provide any necessary information requested by test team leaders and/or PM.
  • Coordinate support with other DoD agencies or offices as necessary to protect DoD assets. Facilitate liaison support between DoD CI organizations and RDT&E test personnel.
  • Attend periodic NT test support meetings; use venue to provide counterintelligence and threat information to NT test team, as needed.
  • In coordination with J29C Field Site Teams, ensure personnel assigned to RDT&E sites or involved in the RDT&E lifecycle are aware of the threat from FIE, other foreign interests, and/or anyone potentially involved in the unauthorized possession of CPI and/or CRT.
  • Protect CPI and CRT from compromise throughout the NT RDT&E lifecycle at all DTRA locations.
  • Provide CI training in support of RTP efforts, and ensure training as tailored to support enterprises.
  • Briefs/debriefs to DTRA personnel before and after international travel regarding existing and potential foreign intelligence entity, terrorist, and criminal threats to travelers.
  • Provides CI support to NT information technology (IT) environments by conducting technology and test threat assessments.
  • Provides Technical Surveillance Countermeasure (TSCM) advice and assistance in areas of operational protective programs. TSCM operational support provided by other CI personnel.
  • Supports CI operations of Field Site Teams/Offices located at Kleber Kaserne, Germany; Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico; Travis AFB, California; and Eglin AFB, Florida; and other special locations as directed.
  • Support evaluating current and future cyberspace requirements and capabilities.
  • Identifying possible improvement opportunities and identifying and characterizing threat actors.
  • Planning, designing, and implementing projects to improve overall cyberspace security/positions.

Qualifications

Position Requirements
  • Experience providing Counterintelligence support to scientific research teams
  • Demonstrated experience with insider threat tools and software
  • Counterintelligence Basics training through an accredited source
  • Five (5) years minimum experience 
  • DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance
