Job Description

Vice President - Marketing Strategy & Planning
  • Lead the development of all ‘below the line’ Marketing initiatives that will drive our business, while also supporting the brand development and differentiation in the marketplace with advisors and consumers.
  • Responsible for leading and organizing our Product Marketing, Distribution Marketing, and Content Marketing teams to deliver on the aforementioned goals of supporting the business while differentiating the brand.
  • Motivate and challenge the marketing team to constantly achieve superior results.
Marketing Strategic Development
  • Create the culture of leveraging consumer, advisor, and competitor insights to help develop our Marketing Plan and guide our business decisions.
  • Partner with Brand and Communications team to align and integrate ‘below the line’ initiatives with ‘above the line’ support key.
  • Partner with Director of Marketing Operations to create a prioritization and communication system for all ad-hoc business requests
  • Leverage innovative techniques and tools to identify ‘never been done before’ opportunities for us to break through the clutter in the marketplace to build brand awareness
Product Marketing Leadership:
  • Lead the Product Marketing and Competitive Intelligence Team.
  • Leverage knowledge of products, marketplace, channel requirements, and advisor/consumer needs to create compelling “stories” that support our business partners.
  • Identify ways to partner more effectively with Actuarial and Sales team to influence product decisions using data.
Distribution and Training Marketing Leadership:
  • Lead the Distribution and Training Marketing Team
  • Create the vision for the training department
  • Partner with our channel sales leaders to develop any appropriate channel-specific business support plan to assist in growing the domestic business
Content/Social Marketing Leadership:
  • Leverage data to inform the vision for content, social and thought leadership Marketing Team.
  • Identify opportunities to build brand awareness leveraging content/social/thought leadership with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Brand and Communications Team to ensure content/social/though leadership is consistent with and supports our brand vision.


Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of technical/related professional experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • A professional with the strategic capability to develop an integrated marketing plan, while having the flexibility to support the demands and requirements of our customers and partners.
  • Experience with Digital Marketing capabilities and leveraging data to create the right tactical plan.
  • Proven leadership experience with directing and leading activities within own functional area with overall control of planning, staffing, managing expense priorities and approving changes to methods and practices.
  • Strong ability to develop innovative solutions in functional area of expertise, requiring complex decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the overall business.
  • Skilled communicator who influences and shapes the image of a function and negotiates with great latitude on outcomes.
