An exceptional World Class Global Tier I automotive supplier has an immediate need to fill a position of Master Planner for their large plant located south of Kalamazoo, MI. This is a large multi-billion dollar American owned company.
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:Responsible for all material control duties for the assigned product line, including establishing and maintaining a working rapport with our customers, vendors, and production personnel necessary for seamless scheduling of assembly and related purchase parts to meet customer requirements.
· Maintain customer systems.
· Ensure the continued flow of material while minimizing inventory and transportation costs. Provide production departments with the materials required to perform operations.
· Prepare builds schedules for appropriate lines based on available capacity, to achieve high customer service satisfaction and minimize inventory levels on purchased parts.
· Review all material releases for assigned product lines.
· A weekly operation (build/sales forecast) plan must be built to aid manufacturing in the alignment of manpower.
· Investigate, review, and approve all adjustments to material requirements to or from the customer.
· Initiate and coordinate premium transportation within Customer systems.
· Ensure cum reconciliation for appropriate customers.
· Prepare obsolescence claims/documentation.
· Establish safety stocks.
· Maintain accurate records on cumulative shipments and customer information (part #, description, contact, phone #), and enter data (customer releases) as required.
· Monitor customer schedules and communicate any problems, making overtime or manpower recommendations.
· Initiate daily shipping orders.
· Carry out assigned functions described in Policies, Procedures, and Quality Manuals. Implement TS16949 procedures, and ensure compliance to MS-9000 requirements.
· Special projects as assigned.
· Make recommendations and suggestions that promote continuous improvement.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum High School diploma, with two (2) years college strongly preferred. Minimum three (3) years experience in a materials function. Operating knowledge of MRP II system, and basic computer skills with working knowledge of Windows software. Requires strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
