Machine Operator- 2nd & 3rd shift
Job Summary:
Responsible for proper operation of the line including all aspects of the machine productivity and high quality of the finished product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work instructions within the Control Plan related to the production area including correct material, instructions and quality.
  • Operate and maintain the machines according to the priorities established by the Supervisor.
  • Responsible for production of product as follows:
  • Type and quantity of product built that will support the shipping schedule as provided by the Team Leader/Kanbans.
  • The product will be produced in a timely manner to support shipping the product on time.
  • The product manufactured will match the design and quality specifications.
  • The product will be packed in accordance with the Control Plan.
  • Meet the customer’s quality requirements through the inspection of product according to the SOP.
  • Complete Cell Production Form correctly for each order produced at the end of the production run or shift, whichever is sooner.
  • Under the direction of the Supervisor, lead and direct members of the production line.
  • Lead in setting up lines.Check all line settings in Control Plan; document any changes needed and give them to the Supervisor.
  • Properly dispose of all scrap and waste material.
  • Ensure area around line is clean, organized, and set up for specific product being run.
  • Ensure line is properly fed with either raw materials or work-in-process at all times.
  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication with the rest of the line; i.e. letting the rest of the line know where they are on schedule and updating line operators regarding completion status of the line’s production schedule intermittently during the shift.
  • Troubleshoot all problems that prevent lines from running in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment and tools and practice safe working habits at all times including team members.
  • Assist with training of Line Operators.
  • Cross train on other production lines.
  • Immediately report any unsafe act or condition.
  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:
(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)High school, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Must possess good math skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and QI Analyst preferred.
