Company is seeking an Automation Engineer.  This person is responsible for designing and building Production Automation Systems to meet the specific needs of our customers and business requirements. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Design, and or build, document and follow revision control procedures to production automation system equipment. Work with automation team to produce, debug and maintain automated production equipment. Read and interpret plans from paper drawings or computer files.
 
Work as a team with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Quality staff to ensure that projects are finished safely, quickly, precisely on schedule and within budget.
Using problem solving techniques, examine, diagnose, and trouble-shoot new and existing automation system equipment to make improvements or corrections to produce quality products.
Assist with sampling of new molds for first article submission, debug and troubleshoot automation system if needed and current production tools while evaluating any automation or auxiliary equipment that might be required or changed.
 
Provide Production support on issues with automated equipment.
Can be asked to assist in quoting new projects, estimating lead times, attending Concept, Design, Design for Manufacturability, or Customer Review Meetings.
Other duties as required.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 
Education/Experience. 
 
High school education or GED required.  Undergraduate degree in Automation / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering preferred. Four years' experience in automated systems or in tooling or mold making. Experience using mold-making tools such as metal saws, mills, grinders, lathes, EDM sinkers, EDM Hole Burner and CNC Mill.
 
Computer Skills. 
 
Ability to operate personal computer.  Knowledge of Windows based CAD programs such as Master cam, AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
Language Skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and utilizes instructions and short correspondence with professionals.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.
 
Mathematical Skills. 
 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratios, percent and use trigonometry. Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings.
 
Reasoning Ability. 
 
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  An understanding of cause and effect as it relates to mold making. Use of experience to trouble shoot and problem solve.
 
Other Skills and Abilities.
 
Willingness to attend conferences or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills. Occasional travel may be requested for company business.  Overtime may be required to meet work demands.
Supervisory Responsibilities.  Ability to direct work task to others if you are assigned the lead role in a project.
