Currently, there is a unique position for an enthusiastic, motivated and driven individual with a proven track record in the Utilities Industry.   As a key team member of the Technology Production Engineering organization, the Utilities Engineer will serve as the subject matter and technical expert  for  Utilities Unit located at our Pensacola, FL manufacturing facility. This role will have accountability to drive Utilities operations to optimum reliability and performance.
 
TARGETED OUTCOMES
 
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship with the Manufacturing organization
  • Utilize Six Sigma and Operational Excellence principles to develop targeted strategies to drive energy efficiency to entitlement
  • Develop processes with clear KPI’s to ensure site utilities operate as designed
  • Develop targeted strategies to drive to zero unplanned failures for key site utilities.
  • Assure water quality and treatment performance via ownership with third party supplier
  • Support testing and implementing of new technologies
  • Takes action and directs work with a primary focus on personal and process Safety.

    Manager of Operations
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
     
  • Supports the site and area safety programs via team participation (or leadership) in PHAs, LOPAs, MOC, PSM, incident investigations, resolution of action items, and other activities to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads the development and implementation of process optimization and improvements in process safety and reliability
  • Leverages process and equipment design skills to provide reliable cost effective steam generation, compressed gas, and water treatment
  • Works closely with Manufacturing, Process, and Project Engineering organizations to deliver Plant performance and business goals
  • Works with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability professionals to improve the reliability of the site utility systems and to maximize OEE
  • Provides technical counsel to ensure that  processes are operating within the appropriate technical envelope to deliver planned performance

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineer
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in the field of petro-chemical industry in a Utility Operation
  • 3-5 + Broad experience in utility operations including cooling tower, steam generation systems, compressed gases, and water treatment
  • Water Demineralization
  • Strong environmental, safety, and health background with knowledge of PSM
    DESIRED CERTIFICATION
     
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
