This position reports to the Technical Services Director.  
Responsible for performing routine microbiological testing of manufacturing components and pharmaceutical products to support the Pharmaceutical Division.
 
Desired Qualifications/Skills
 
*           BS degree in a biological science such as microbiology or clinical laboratory science with one to five years of relevant experience in a cGMP/cGLP environment.
*           Experience-based knowledge of microbiology, pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, and FDA guidelines.
*           Demonstrated communication, organization and analytical skills.
*           Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office is required.
*           Technical writing experience is preferred.
*           Preference will be given to candidates that also have experience with wet chemistry and/or an analytical chemistry background and/or chemistry experience.
 
Major Accountabilities
 
*           Responsibilities will include routine microbiological testing (50%) with the remainder devoted to method development, SOP writing, and evaluation of new testing methodologies and technologies.
*           Must be able to perform regular microbiological assessments including manufacturing processes, environmental testing, and process water testing according to cGMP/cGLP practices.
*           Investigate out-of-specification results.
*           Prepare written summaries of batch testing results.
*           Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
*           Take an active role in defining new technologies, policies, and procedures to improve product quality and streamline testing.
*           Microbiological test method validation experience desired.
